About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and professional healthcare team. You’ll play a key role in supervising and developing both qualified and unqualified nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care. As an Orthopaedic Staff Nurse, you’ll act as a mentor, role model, and clinical supervisor, contributing to the professional growth of your team while delivering high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care programmes for patients.
  • Deliver care in line with the ward’s philosophy and organisational policies.
  • Regularly coordinate ward activities and oversee the performance of nursing staff.
  • Support newly appointed staff through orientation, induction, and ongoing supervision.
  • Act as a clinical supervisor and mentor, helping to develop skills and competencies within the team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with professional standards.
  • Ensure the highest levels of care by adhering to evidence-based practices.
  • Take part in regular appraisals and performance reviews to support personal and professional growth.
  • Actively participate in training and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Active first-level NMC registration.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork, including effective communication with service users, carers, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks independently.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency in administering intravenous medications.
  • A comprehensive portfolio aligned with Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) criteria.
  • A professional, ethical approach to patient care, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
