Solution Design & Routing Planner (Maternity Cover)

Overall, Job Purpose:

• The purpose of the role is to design routing solutions in line with the development needs of the business.
• The role will focus on the effective use of Planning Software systems. The use of these systems is to ensure all new business opportunities are planned effectively whilst remaining efficient for all new business opportunities across the MDL Network in UK and Ireland.
• The role will also focus on the optimisation of current business to ensure the best routing plans are being produced in line with our business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively use of the route planning and opimisation system,
• Liaise with the Central Operations team to develop innovative planning solutions in line with current business leads
• Communicate planned new locker activity, or optimal changes to current business with relevant business teams or individuals in a timely manner
• Interpret and produce KPI reports, and analysis to support change in the business

PROCESSES:

• Utilise planning software to promote the best practice for routing and solutions design
• Provide planning and routing support to Operations team and managers
• Provide route options as directed by line manager
• Support new locker on-boarding implementations
• Generate reports from the system to ensure effective decisions can be made by the senior leadership team

INTERNAL CUSTOMER:

• Liaise with MDL branch network to support the success of our ecommerce contract and improve customer service levels
• Be a point of contact for branches wishing to discuss alternative routing opportunities

FINANCE:

• Create potential route plans and “what if” scenario plans to routes
• Ensure that route planning is aligned with costs agreed and where possible find lower cost alternatives.

Professional Standards:

• Experience of Route Planning Software (Desirable)
• Proficient in MS Package (Essential)
• Ability to work as part, and individually
• Innovative thinker
• Be able to analyse information and data create coherent factual reports
