About the Role:
This exciting community-based role will see you delivering expert occupational therapy services, supporting individuals in Swindon to live as independently as possible. You will assess needs, recommend interventions, and implement tailored solutions in diverse settings, including clients’ homes, supported living facilities, and residential care homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lone home visits to assess and support clients in their own homes and other care settings.
- Assess occupational and functional needs and implement actions to enhance independence, adhering to statutory requirements, professional standards, and budget considerations.
- Offer specialist advice on equipment, adaptations, and compensatory techniques remotely or in person, prioritizing cases for waiting lists as needed.
- Screen referrals for occupational therapy, utilizing expert knowledge of available services and resources.
- Provide support and supervision for colleagues in occupational therapy and social care roles.
- Uphold professional standards as defined by the HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
What do you need:
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with a degree or diploma in the field.
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Fluency in English, meeting Part 7 of the Immigration Act requirements.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (or equivalent mobility).
- Significant post-qualification professional experience in a similar setting.
- Evidence of professional development and contribution to team learning.
- A proactive, autonomous approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate, and highly skilled individual with expertise in major and minor adaptations, moving and handling assessments, and housing needs assessments. You’ll have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
