Seven Resourcing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resettlement Caseworker to join our team. This full-time contract role offers an hourly pay rate of £15.05. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting refugee families, providing tailored advice and assistance to help them settle into their new communities and achieve independence. As a Caseworker, you will provide intensive support and advice to a caseload of refugee families, ensuring they receive professional, user-focused assistance. Working collaboratively with relevant agencies, your role will involve offering tailored, responsive support to help individuals and families integrate into their new communities. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on achieving positive outcomes for service users in line with the requirements of the Home Office, UK Government, and Welsh Government.
Role Duties
- Manage a caseload of families, providing holistic, intensive support to address their social, mental, and financial wellbeing.
- Build trusting relationships with families, offering expert advice and solutions for their unique challenges, often over extended periods.
- Prepare for the arrival of new families by organising practical arrangements and ensuring their residences are ready.
- Assist clients in accessing necessary services, including making referrals, supporting applications, and coordinating translation services.
- Provide information and practical support to help families live independently within the local community.
- Support service users in accessing permanent housing, including guidance during the transition from temporary accommodation to independence.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date casework records, monitoring data, and required reports are maintained in line with service agreements.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant legislation, service provision, and eligibility criteria, sharing this knowledge with colleagues and other service providers.
- Empower families by offering guidance to help them integrate into British society and navigate local systems.
- Provide ongoing support through drop-in sessions for clients no longer requiring intensive assistance.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in casework, social support, or a related field, ideally working with refugees or vulnerable groups.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships over time.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Knowledge of local services, community resources, and relevant legislation relating to refugees and resettlement.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and maintain detailed case records.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations diplomatically.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Home Office, UK Government, or Welsh Government policies on resettlement and refugee support.
- Experience in managing translation services or working with interpreters.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and the resettlement process.
