Our client, a leading logistics company, is seeking an experienced Multi Modal Operations Clerk to join their dynamic team. If you have a proven background in shipping and logistics and are ready to take on a challenging role in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is perfect for you!
Responsibilities

• Oversee multimodal shipments from start to finish, including liaising with agents, managing bill of ladings, clearance instructions, deliveries, and special requirements.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and document organisation.
• Assist with office management tasks, including ordering supplies and inventory management.
• Answer and direct phone enquiries professionally.
• Provide administrative support to the operations team.
• Use computerised systems and software for data management.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in the shipping industry,  within a freight forwarding role.
  • Solid knowledge of import/export via sea and air.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and quick adaptability to new software.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Fast and efficient typing ability.
• Education: GCSE or equivalent (required).
• Languages:
  • English (required).
  • Chinese (preferred).
• Licences:
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required).

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to commute to Colchester (required).
• Willing to relocate to Colchester prior to starting the role (required).
