Job specification for Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am-3.30pm
- Work closely with SEN children aged 4-11
- Help support their social, emotional and academic development to allow them to reach their potential
- Work 1:1, in small-groups and whole classes to support the needs of SEN children
Character specification for Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Be a patient, hardworking Graduate from a top UK University with a desire to work with SEN children aged 4-11
- Exprience working in school-based settings, with children aged 4-11, or with SEN desirable
- Welcome being part of a nurturing, dedicated team of friendly, warm staff and students
- Be looking for a long-term role lasting at least until the end of the academic year
- Enjoy the prospect of helping children with ASD, ADHD and other complex SEN thrive
- Be available for interview or trial as soon as possible
The large Primary Schools are located closely together in a relatively deprived catchment area, with a high levels of complex, acute SEN in children across all ages. This challenging environment requires the Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to demonstrate sensitivity to ranging socioeconomic situations, and ability to adapt to changing situations. Previous experience working in a School, other Primary-aged setting or with SEN individuals is desired for the Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role.
Situated centrally in a highly residential area with excellent transport links and parking, both schools are easily accessible from surrounding areas.
