What We’re Looking For
If you’re interested in joining Routes as our Clinical Lead, here’s what we need from you:
- A valid NMC pin and current practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK.
- Experience in general nursing including management of clients who are ventilated via tracheostomy
- Experience managing a team of nurses.
- Community nursing experience (desirable, but not essential).
- A high standard of English comprehension and grammar.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Competence in reviewing and interpreting complex documents.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to plan, prioritise, and manage your workload.
- Enthusiasm and personal commitment to the role.
- A logical, proactive, and flexible attitude.
- Up-to-date competencies in a broad range of community-based clinical activities, including supporting people who are ventilated via tracheostomy.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Ensure all clients with complex health and social care needs receive sufficient clinical oversight to guarantee safe and effective care delivery.
- Provide clinical supervision for nurses and support their learning and development.
- Develop monitoring and reporting systems that promote safe, effective, and high-quality services.
- Conduct regular quality audits and support visits to maintain consistent standards.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and effective communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery.
- Provide strong clinical leadership and support for RNs, acting as a champion for client safety and dignity.
- Complete audits within the specified weekly/monthly timeframes.
- Lead regular clinical meetings and cascade information to Service Managers, Quality Manager, the Operations Director, and the Nominated Individual.
- Contribute and participate towards governance meetings.
- Review compliance with the Health and Social Care Act (2008) and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety (2010), ensuring any recommendations from a CQC review are actioned appropriately.
- Engage in continuous professional development to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
