Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Offer one-on-one support to a child with autism or emotional/mental health needs, assisting in overcoming challenges.
- Help to implement individualised learning plans (ILPs), focusing on both academic and personal progress.
- Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring the student engages with the curriculum in a way that works for them.
- Foster a nurturing, supportive environment that promotes emotional, social, and academic growth.
- Help the student develop life skills such as communication, time management, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and professionals to ensure the child's needs are met and progress is tracked.
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and assist with behavioural management to encourage emotional wellbeing.
- Support the student during off-site activities and access to therapies, ensuring a holistic approach to their education.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in any subject, with a passion for special educational needs.
- Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meet the individual needs of the student.
