Graduate Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Cheadle

Are you a graduate with a 2:1 or higher, looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting?

Do you have a compassionate and supportive nature, with a passion for helping students, especially those with additional learning needs?

Are you eager to find a role where you can grow professionally and make a real impact on young learners’ lives?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Cheadle is seeking a Graduate Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, long-term role for the remainder of the academic year
  • Salary up to £520 per week
  • Conveniently located in Cheadle, with good public transport links
  • Ideal for graduates considering a future in SEN teaching, educational psychology, or speech and language therapy
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced educators and develop your skills
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with academic and personal challenges

We are looking for a motivated and caring graduate who is ready to support students with special educational needs in a secondary school environment. The school promotes an inclusive culture where every student is given the support they need to succeed. You will be part of a team committed to helping each student achieve their full potential.

While prior experience working with secondary students is a plus, it’s not essential. Graduates with degrees in psychology, sociology, linguistics, or similar fields are encouraged to apply. Your understanding of human behavior and communication will be invaluable in meeting the diverse needs of the students. Graduates with degrees in core subjects like Maths, English, or Science are also welcome, as your expertise will help support students’ academic development.

If you’re considering a career in education, particularly in special needs, this role provides invaluable hands-on experience. The school has recently undergone significant renovations, including new facilities like sensory rooms and other resources to support students with additional needs.

If you're passionate about supporting students, collaborating with teachers, and contributing to a positive school atmosphere, we’d love to hear from you.
