Job Title: Team Leader – Autism Hub
Speciality: Adult Disability Service

Job Summary:
As a Team Leader within the adult disability service, you will provide support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism in various settings. This includes residential homes, supported living, short break services, and outreach teams. The role involves coordinating a team, developing care programmes, and offering 24-hour support to service users. You will also manage crises, engage in daily activities, and lead a team to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, develop, and evaluate care programmes for service users.
- Manage crisis situations autonomously and maintain service user safety.
- Provide care independently, referring to senior staff when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records in line with organisational standards.
- Safeguard service users and demonstrate evidence-based practice.
- Lead a team, manage rota schedules, and support junior staff development.
- Participate in health and wellbeing activities like gym, horse riding, and swimming.
- Engage service users in person-centred social activities.
- Conduct risk assessments to promote service users' independence.
Leadership & Communication:
- Lead, coordinate, and manage a team within the service.
- Communicate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Resolve service user-related issues and handle sensitive information with care.
- Assist with staff induction, training, and mentorship within the team.
Training & Development:
- Complete mandatory training and engage in professional development.
- Supervise junior staff and contribute to the development of service training strategies.
Other Responsibilities:
- Comply with policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Undertake shift work as required, with flexibility to meet service needs.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
Key Criteria:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Health or Social Care Professional (e.g. Nurse, Speech Therapist, OT, Social Worker) or Degree in Health and Social Care with relevant experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong IT, communication, leadership, and management skills.
- Experience and understanding of autism and learning disabilities.
- Valid driving licence (negotiable depending on area).
