As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Support children with SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, ASD, ASC, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and SEMH.
- Work on a 1-1 basis and in small groups to provide tailored support.
- Assist with implementing strategies and supporting the delivery of the National Curriculum.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support to children.
- Work alongside the class teacher to ensure the children's individual needs are met.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Early Years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2) National Curriculum.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs, including Autism and ADHD.
- SEND qualifications are desirable (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SENCo, or similar).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) status is advantageous, but not essential.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
