Locum Opportunity: Waste Management Supervisor

Overview:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Waste Management Supervisor to oversee operations within the Environment & Waste sector across multiple locations in Leicestershire. This ongoing role offers flexibility with Full-Time or Part-Time options, providing the ideal work-life balance. You will supervise the Waste Transfer Station and Waste Haulage Operations for Leicestershire County Council, ensuring efficient and safe service delivery for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient service delivery for the residents of Leicestershire.
• Foster positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
• Maintain Waste Transfer Stations and Waste Haulage operations in line with legislation, policies, and budgetary constraints.
• Supervise a team of Specialist HGV Drivers and Waste Management Operatives, managing recruitment, training, and performance.
• Act as a Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) holder for Waste Transfer Stations, providing cover when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
• Oversee vehicle and driver compliance with legal standards, including tachograph data and vehicle checks.
• Promote operational efficiency and identify opportunities for service improvements.
• Coordinate with key contractors to ensure equipment maintenance is consistently carried out.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections, ensuring secure management of information.
