Locum Social Worker – Court & Locality Team

Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, creating targeted intervention plans using a multi-agency approach.
- Case Management: Lead and manage child protection and court proceedings, ensuring legal frameworks and the welfare of children are at the forefront.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with external partners and professionals to deliver holistic family plans that prioritise the safety and development of children.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case records, tracking the progress of children and adapting plans based on changing needs.
- Advocacy: Support cared-for children through the legal process, ensuring their voices are heard and their best interests are protected.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Social Work Qualification: Recognised degree in Social Work (e.g., BA Social Work, MA Social Work, or equivalent).
- Registration: Current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in Child Protection, Court Proceedings, and Care Planning.
- Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning Regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks.

- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to engage with children, families, and professionals.
- Organisation: Ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritise tasks, and meet statutory deadlines.
