Qualified Social Worker - Adult Team within Cheshire UK, earning £35 Hourly. This is an ongoing opportunity for a competent and enthusiastic social worker to join our dynamic Adult Team in the beautiful Cheshire area. You will be responsible to the Team Manager and operate at Grade 10. This is an exciting full-time locum position where you can make a significant difference in the lives of adults in the community.

What you will do:

  • Undertake the assessment of service users as defined by the 1983 Mental Health Act, ensuring thorough background information is collected, including medical opinions.
  • Consult with doctors, specialists, and other professionals to gather comprehensive service user histories.
  • Conduct interviews with service users and perform full risk assessments to inform detention decisions.
  • Co-ordinate with professional bodies such as the police, ambulance services, or courts for obtaining necessary warrants.
  • Complete and circulate the Approved Social Worker report and produce comprehensive reports for hospital managers and Mental Health Tribunals.
  • Arrange safe transport for service users and ensure legal documentation is accurate.
  • Advise service users and their relatives on legal rights, including rights to appeal and discharge requests.
  • Make necessary alternative care arrangements when applications for detention are not made or refused.
  • Maintain thorough records and complete administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Participate in supervision sessions, staff meetings, and engage in training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of services by sharing knowledge with colleagues and other professional groups.
