Social Worker – Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team – London, UK – £37 Hourly, Ongoing, Full Time Locums

What you will do:
- Conduct thorough assessments of children with disabilities to craft customised support plans
- Collaborate effectively with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to provide cohesive care
- Manage a complex caseload with a focus on timely interventions and ensuring safeguarding measures are met
- Implement and review Child in Need (CIN) Plans, Child Protection (CP) Plans, and Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) where necessary
- Participate actively in multi-disciplinary meetings, case conferences, and legal proceedings as required
- Advocate fiercely for children and young people, ensuring access to top-notch services and resources
- Keep precise and current case records in line with the Children’s Act 1989/2004 and statutory guidelines
- Offer both emotional and practical support to children and families, promoting inclusion, independence, and safeguarding
- Engage in ongoing training and supervision to advance professional development
Requirements:
- A degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, or equivalent)
- Social Work England registration
- Demonstrated experience in a Children with Disabilities or Safeguarding team
- Exceptional assessment, advocacy, and communication skills
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice 2015
