  • Guidance and Advice: Provide expert advice on clinical coding to the data quality team and other relevant personnel.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with coding protocols by liaising with relevant UK NHS organisations and attending workshops.
  • Confidentiality: Adhere to data protection laws and maintain confidentiality with all information handled.

Key Criteria:

  • Medical Knowledge: Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Confidentiality: Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive material.
  • Self-management: Ability to prioritise work and operate independently, maintaining positivity under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of medical professionals.

Key Competencies/Behaviours:

  • Leadership: Understand the role's impact on organisational priorities and suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Teamwork: Engage with colleagues and professionals across teams to share knowledge and achieve goals.
