Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support in a Year 1 class in Primary School in Kings Norton. This is a small school who are community focused and value an inclusive environment, where children are encouraged to come responsible, caring and independent. 

The school is looking for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support children within Year 1 class on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP and continuing for the full academic year.

The Responsibilities of this Year 1 Teaching Assistant role, include:

• Support children within a Year 1 class on a long-term, full-time basis.
• Work with small groups, 1:1 support, and whole-class activities.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher to prepare for lessons.
• Help children meet Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum targets.
• Assist in creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote a positive and safe learning environment for all pupils.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience working as a TA in a UK school.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly Key Stage 1 (KS1).
• Experience working in a Primary School, particularly with Year 1 pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and staff.
