Our Client has a requirement for a Lead Structural Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Aberdeen.
Role Purpose:
- Lead a Civil, Structural & Architectural team on projects across the energy spectrum, including oil and gas operators and carbon capture initiatives.
- Engage in technically challenging work, providing innovative solutions and a broad range of work scopes.
- Ensure effective planning and prioritization of work for both self and junior staff to meet project timelines.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Coordinate design and delivery with the Global Integrated Delivery team to uphold project quality and consistency.
- Conduct engineering calculations and review junior staff work for accuracy and quality.
- Generate value-adding options within projects to enhance client satisfaction and win chances.
- Provide functional support and mentorship to junior staff, fostering individual and team development.
- Stay updated with current technology trends to inform project technical inputs.
- Prepare and assist in estimates and schedules, ensuring compliance with budget and timeline.
- Maintain strong communication with clients and conduct site visits when necessary.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience leading CSA teams on medium to large scale projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective information sharing and presentations.
- Strong technical and practical engineering skills with a track record of delivering quality work.
- Proactive, goal-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities effectively.
- Familiarity with planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Understanding of commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of engineering.
- Competence in estimating man-hours and materials for assigned tasks.
