About the Role
We are seeking a committed Nursery Nurse to join a welcoming school in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in children's early learning and development while being part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Support – Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Child Supervision – Oversee children throughout the school day, ensuring they are safe and engaged in stimulating activities.
- Parental & Professional Liaison – Maintain regular communication with parents and carers, contribute to reports, and work alongside external professionals.
- Home Visits – Occasionally accompany a teacher or colleague on home visits to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Child Development – Support children’s growth across learning, social, emotional, and physical areas.
- Assessment & Feedback – Observe and evaluate children’s progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers.
- Learning Environment – Assist in creating and maintaining a stimulating and effective learning space.
- Record Keeping – Help document children's progress and development.
Applicant Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Relevant Qualifications – A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related subject.
- Experience – Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or school environment.
- Safeguarding Knowledge – A solid understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
- DBS Check – An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Strong Communication Skills – The ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Teamwork & Initiative – A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to working within a team.
