What you will do:
- Lead and chair child protection conferences and looked after children reviews in compliance with key legislation and regulations.
- Develop and review child protection and care plans to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Consult with service members and partner agencies to optimise child protection and care planning strategies.
- Engage children, young people, and families in meetings, ensuring they are informed and can actively participate.
- Promote fair access and challenge discrimination, respecting the diverse backgrounds of the children and their families.
- Uphold the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and promote a positive image of children’s services.
- Provide guidance and support to social work staff and partner agencies, ensuring best practices and professional standards.
- Manage resources efficiently to support children’s services while adhering to financial regulations.
- Ensure statutory requirements are met through regular case audits and the development of management and data systems.
