Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Marine Systems Engineer, on a staff basis in Hampshire, UK.

This position offers a great level of flexibility with 12 days working from home each calander month.

Role Purpose:

  • Provide technical leadership within the naval and marine operation discipline.
  • Support global activities on various projects, particularly in Floating LNG (FLNG) and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facilities.
  • Review and monitor ongoing projects to ensure technical excellence.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical specifications and functional requirements for marine systems during the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase and execution.
  • Monitor, follow up, and review FEED and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) LNG projects, focusing on marine system equipment, P&IDs, and PFDs.
  • Assist during Technical Clarification meetings and facilitate HAZID/HAZOP workshops.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in the design of cargo loading, storage, and offtake systems, including LNG tanks, slop and drain systems, bilge and ballast systems, Inert Gas systems, and auxiliary systems.
  • Strong skills in preparing and reviewing P&IDs and PFDs related to marine systems.
  • Knowledge of Classification Society Rules, SOLAS, and MARPOL as applicable to FPSO and FLNG operations is highly advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in working on or monitoring FEED and EPC LNG projects.
  • Seagoing experience as a second or chief engineer, with experience on Oil Tankers and LNG Carriers.
  • Previous experience as a Classification Society surveyor or Tanker/LNG Ship Vetting engineer.
  • Active participation in project HAZID/HAZOP activities is required.
  • OPITO certification for offshore travel is preferable.
