What you will do:

  •  Lead and govern excellent social work practice to achieve high-quality outcomes for looked after children aged 0-12, ensuring accountability for professional standards and compliance with procedures and targets.
  •  Oversee the team's workload and performance, ensuring efficient operations and high standards of care and safety.
  •  Motivate and support staff, encouraging continuous professional development through training and research opportunities.
  •  Create, implement, and review care plans, applying a proportionate and ethical approach based on assessed needs and risks.
  •  Foster effective partnerships across the organisation and with foster carers, schools, and other relevant bodies to provide comprehensive services.
  •  Make informed decisions that consider the long-term impact on looked after children, taking into account their wishes and feelings.
  •  Provide emotionally intelligent supervision to staff, promoting best outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service quality and performance, recognising excellence and addressing areas for development.


Requirements:

  • Recognised social work qualification with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child social work, particularly with looked after children.
  •  Strong leadership and management skills.
  •  In-depth understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
