Job Title: Executive Communications Manager

Contract: Inside IR35

Location: London

Purpose of Role:
The Executive Communications Manager is responsible for stakeholder management, engagement, and monitoring activities, focusing on communications with Executive and Leadership groups. The Communications Manager will understand the needs of senior business leaders and identify opportunities and barriers to change. This role involves fostering relationships through one-on-one and virtual connections, participation in Executive forums, and creating innovative materials that promote understanding and sponsorship of the program across regions and functions.

Key Accountabilities of the Communications Manager:

  • Stakeholder Identification: Identify senior stakeholders and their influence across business functions and regions, ensuring the Global Change team monitors support critical to program success.
  • Advocacy Agreement: Leverage the Global Change methodology to establish target advocacy from each Executive sponsor to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Impact Understanding: Assess the impact of the program on Executives and collaborate with program leadership to create engaging materials and events that support their change journey.
  • Communication Strategy: Develop and execute an Executive engagement and communications strategy through a targeted plan covering all program phases to achieve necessary sponsor understanding and advocacy.
  • Advocacy Monitoring: Capture and monitor advocacy for or opposition to changes, tracking with the Global Communications team to identify and address risks and opportunities.
  • Program Integration: As part of the Program Integration & Execution team, understand program status and integrate key messages into communications, providing templates and coaching to meet needs.
  • Message Synchronization: Align Executive communications scheduling and delivery with Program Management and communications plans for consistent messaging across leadership teams.
  • Narrative Development: Support the creation of the program narrative, key messages, and communication blueprint to guide Executive activities from various perspectives.
  • Channel Utilization: Identify and create effective communication channels for deploying messages to senior stakeholders, considering global, regional, and local contexts.
  • Collaboration with Providers: Work with third-party communications service providers and local teams to effectively launch communications.
  • Event Development: Lead content development for stakeholder-focused engagement events (e.g., leadership meetings, town halls) to enhance stakeholder engagement through interactive formats.
  • Data Measurement: Utilize data and insights to assess communication effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Support Leadership Team: Assist the Global Change Lead and program leadership in producing deliverables for the program.

Qualifications and Experience required of the communications Manager:

  • Significant experience in planning and influencing senior leaders to support change initiatives, particularly in complex transformational projects, with a strong emphasis on S/4 HANA transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of communication channels and the ability to innovate for engagement.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of collaborating with third-party providers to achieve project goals.
  • Experience in planning and executing stakeholder events.
  • Degree educated.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deliver high-quality communications under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools to develop plans and communications content (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer/Viva Engage, Teams, Synthesia, Canva, Poppulo etc.)
