Are you an experienced and caring SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a new opportunity?
Flourish Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a two form entry Primary school in Hereford. The school has recently been rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED, with a recent report stating that 'Where pupils have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), Leaders and staff use their own significant skills and knowledge of pupils and their families to ensure that all pupils, no matter how significant their need, can access the same learning as their classmates'.
The school are looking to recruit a caring and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child with additional needs in Year 2. The child has SEMH needs (social, emotional and mental health). You will work to develop the child's communication and personal and social skills through planned interventions and activities as directed by the class teacher.
The successful applicant will have a secure understanding of the KS1 curriculum, and previous experience of working with children with SEN. The school are looking for candidates who are willing to commit to a long-term position to ensure consistency for the child.
This role is to start following the half term holiday and will potentially continue until the child requiring support finishes school.
Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working within KS1
- Experience of working with children with SEN
- Committed to a long-term post
- DBS on the update service of issued within the last 12 months
The benefits of working as an SEN Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education:
- £85 day rate to £95 day rate which equates to £16,575 per annum to £18,525 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is located in Hereford, and is easily commutable from the surrounding areas including Malvern, Ledbury, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye. The school has an onsite carpark, and is easily accessible via public transport.
