Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Provide academic support to students in STEM subjects, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science.

Assist in the delivery of engaging lessons, helping students grasp complex concepts and apply them to real-world problems.

Support students with practical STEM activities, such as experiments, projects, and demonstrations.

Offer additional help during revision sessions and exam preparation, ensuring students feel confident and well-prepared.

Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration in the classroom through group work and hands-on tasks.

Monitor student progress, providing tailored feedback and support to meet individual learning needs.

Work closely with teachers and the wider STEM team to adapt lessons and strategies for students requiring extra help or additional challenges.

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in a STEM-related field (e.g., Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
  • A passion for STEM education and the ability to inspire and engage students in these subjects.
  • Prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, volunteering, or mentoring) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts for students.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude towards supporting individual learning needs.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education, teaching, or STEM-related roles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
