Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans, ensuring each student’s individual needs are met.
- Support students in engaging with the curriculum, helping them build their academic skills and boost their confidence.
- Encourage students in developing key life skills, such as communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Work alongside the SEN team and classroom teachers to monitor and assess student progress.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
- Provide support during extra-curricular activities and school trips, helping students access opportunities for learning and personal growth.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their potential.
- Previous experience working with SEN students (through volunteering, tutoring, or personal experience) is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individual learning needs.
- A keen interest in pursuing a career in special education, teaching, or educational psychology.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom.
