Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans, ensuring each student’s individual needs are met.
• Support students in engaging with the curriculum, helping them build their academic skills and boost their confidence.
• Encourage students in developing key life skills, such as communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Work alongside the SEN team and classroom teachers to monitor and assess student progress.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
• Provide support during extra-curricular activities and school trips, helping students access opportunities for learning and personal growth.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

• A 2:1 degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• A genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their potential.
• Previous experience working with SEN students (through volunteering, tutoring, or personal experience) is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong relationships with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individual learning needs.
• A keen interest in pursuing a career in special education, teaching, or educational psychology.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom.
