Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing: As a Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them understand key physics concepts such as motion, energy, and electricity
- Assisting with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students are engaged and inspired by the subject
- Supporting students during practical experiments, ensuring they follow safety protocols and develop hands-on learning skills
- Helping students with revision techniques, exam preparation, and reinforcing core topics
- Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in students to build their confidence in tackling complex problems
- Supporting classroom management and creating a positive, focused learning environment
- Collaborating with the physics department and other staff to address the needs of all students, including those with additional learning requirements
Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Physics or a related subject
- A genuine passion for physics and a desire to inspire students to succeed in the subject
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Previous experience in tutoring or educational support is desirable but not essential
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual student needs
- A proactive attitude, with a desire to support students in their academic and personal development
- An interest in pursuing a career in education
