Supply Teacher

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Smethwick on a long-term basis. The school is rated ‘Good’ and is a 2-form entry, faith school, who value providing a welcoming, supportive and challenging learning environment to motivate the school community to succeed.

Our client is seeking a Early Years / Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support within a classroom setting. This role would be a long-term, full-time position starting after the October half-term and continuing until the end of the academic year. The ideal candidate would have Read, Write Inc. phonics experience.

The Responsibilities of this Teaching Assistant Role:

• Support pupils in line with the National Curriculum, including Read, Write Inc. and Early Years (EYFS) frameworks
• Assist teachers in Key Stage 1 (KS1) classrooms to deliver high-quality learning experiences
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, ensuring every child reaches their potential
• Help create a safe and nurturing environment within the primary school
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt learning activities as necessary
• Collaborate with the teaching staff to promote student well-being and engagement

Required Skills and Experience:

• Relevant qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• Proven experience working in UK schools, particularly in primary schools
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, especially in EYFS and KS1
• Experience with Read, Write Inc. phonics program is an advantage
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
