Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing logistical needs from 3PL to sea, road and air freight. Due to increased global growth, they are looking to add a Land Freight Operator to their team in the West Midlands.
As Land Freight Operator you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the Operations and Road Freight imports/exports accounts.
Land Freight Operator duties include:
- Assist the Road Freight supervisor in support of the company's vision to become more competitive and profitable
- Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development in order to successfully Import/Export road freight, warehouse operations and logistics products
- Oversee client and sub-contractor management
- Ensure all customers and clients are invoiced accurately and on time
- Complete all Import/Export activities correctly and on time including financial, legal and invoicing transactions
- Ensure all operational activities are completed on time
- Maintain regular communication with sales teams reporting new sales leads and handover of shipments
- Communicate quotations to the Line Manager / Sales Team, ensuring all quotations are recorded in one format
- Report internal leads to the customer services and sales teams
- Follow up late customer payments in conjunction with credit control
Skills, Experience and Competencies required:
- Have good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
- Be able to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
- Be fully conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and systems.
- Have excellent communication skills over the telephone and e-mail.
We're keen to speak to people with at least one year's experience in a similar role, who have analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
This is a full-time permanent position, working 5 days per week; 8:30am to 5:30pm, including occasional Saturday hours.
In return, the successful Land Freight Operator will be offered a salary up to £27,000 in line with skills and experience, plus benefits package.
