In this Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will work closely with students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping these students access the curriculum and develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Key Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Sociology, or similar)
  • Some prior experience supporting students with special educational needs, ideally in an educational setting
  • A passion for working with children and a genuine desire to support those with SEN
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive approach to working with students
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual needs
  • Eagerness to pursue a career in education, particularly in SEN, and a commitment to professional development
  • A proactive attitude and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students
