About the Role:
As a Social Worker in the Fostering and Supported Lodgings Team, you will provide essential support to children and young people in care. You'll work closely with foster families and help children maintain stability in their living arrangements through creative interventions. Your role will be varied and include one-on-one support, relationship-based work, and collaboration with multi-professional teams to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.

What You Will Do:
- Support foster carers, supported lodgings hosts, children in care, and care leavers across Dorset, and occasionally beyond.
- Carry out statutory visits every six weeks and ensure timely documentation.
- Collaborate with other professionals to design pathways that help young people transition into independence.
- Offer solid support and supervision to foster carers and hosts, and actively participate in panels.
- Promote excellent organisational and communication skills to handle tight deadlines and draft detailed reports.
- Adhere to safeguarding procedures, promptly escalating concerns when needed and participating in training sessions for carers to encourage their development.
- Work proactively with children and young people, helping them remain within their communities whenever possible, by addressing challenges such as family conflicts and behavioural issues.
- Adopt a strengths-based and therapeutic approach when working with young people and their carers.
- Be responsible for any necessary transportation as part of planned interventions.
- Manage budget discussions and approvals related to your role.
