A well-established secondary school in Coventry is looking for a dedicated Graduate English Teaching Assistant to join their welcoming team. As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside students of various abilities, providing tailored support in one-on-one and small group settings. You will assist in lesson delivery, support students with reading comprehension and writing tasks, and help foster a love for English literature and language.

Graduate English Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in developing their reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Assist with planning and delivering English lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
• Provide tailored support to individuals or small groups, helping them grasp key concepts and improve their academic performance.
• Monitor students’ progress, provide feedback, and work alongside teachers to track development.

Graduate English Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

• A 2:1 degree or higher in English, English Literature, Education, or a closely related field.
• A genuine passion for English and a desire to help students build confidence in their abilities.
• Prior experience working with young people, such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering (desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of all backgrounds.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students’ learning.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the school’s needs.
