Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support in a Primary School in Bartley Green. This school is a ‘Good’ rated 2-form entry Faith School, who aim to provide a nurturing and welcoming environment for both staff and pupils.

Our client is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support across EYFS, predominantly within a Nursery Class. This role would involve supporting a children with SEMH and complex needs in their reception class and working to the EHCP that is in place, this role may also include supporting a child in Nursery who has complex needs and communication and interaction difficulties.

This role would be a full-time, long-term position starting in September and continuing until December, but is potentially ongoing until the end of the academic year.

The responsibilities of this SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in line with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement educational strategies that enhance student learning.
  • Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
  • Work with the SENCO to create and adapt learning materials based on individual student needs.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment within the primary school.
  • Assist in classroom management and provide support during school activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience working as a TA in UK schools, particularly with SEN pupils.
  • A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and a patient, supportive attitude.
