Send Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in a ‘Good’ rated, small, Primary School in Weoley Castle. This school values a welcoming environment and collaboration, curiosity and resilience.

Our client is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support on a 1-1 and small group basis with children across Key stage 1. The ideal candidate would be responsible for supporting children with SEND including Autism (ASD), ADHD and SEMH.

This role would be a long-term position starting after October half-term and continuing until the end of the academic year.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering tailored lessons based on the National Curriculum.
• Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND, particularly those with Autism (ASD), ADHD, and SEMH.
• Assisting in Key Stage 1 (KS1) classes, ensuring all students are fully engaged and supported.
• Helping the Primary School with classroom management and learning activities.
• Encouraging positive social and emotional development for pupils.
• Collaborating closely with the Class Teacher to monitor student progress and adapt learning approaches.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience working in a UK school as a SEND TA.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and experience with Key Stage 1 (KS1).
• Experience working with children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, and SEMH.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or similar.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
