An outstanding school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Graduate English Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025. This full-time Graduate English Teaching Assistant role presents an excellent opportunity to work closely with students, supporting them in their English studies and boosting their confidence in the subject.

Graduate English Teaching Assistant Role:

• A recent graduate with a 2:1 or higher in English, English Literature, or a related field
• Previous experience working with young people, either through tutoring, mentoring, or extracurricular activities, is advantageous
• A strong passion for English language and literature, and a desire to help students excel in their studies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff
• Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable, with a willingness to support students at different levels of ability

Graduate English Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic support to students, assisting with reading, writing, and comprehension skills in both 1:1 and group settings
• Help deliver engaging lessons and activities, ensuring students remain motivated and interested in English
• Offer support to students during lessons, providing extra help with tasks and assignments
• Encourage and foster a love for literature, helping students build confidence in their English abilities
• Work alongside teachers to monitor student progress and provide additional support as required
• Assist with the preparation of resources, marking, and classroom management

Graduate English Teaching Assistant Role Details:

• Full-time, term-time only (Monday to Friday)
• Competitive weekly salary of £475-£500
• Start date: January 2025
