Graduate Teaching Assistant – Birmingham – January 2025 Start

An outstanding school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025. This full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students across a range of subjects, supporting them both academically and personally.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A recent graduate with a 2:1 or higher in any subject (Education, Psychology, or similar fields are particularly welcome)
  • Previous experience working with young people, whether through tutoring, mentoring, or extracurricular activities, is beneficial
  • A strong passion for education and helping students succeed academically and socially
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to support students with diverse needs and learning styles

Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students, reinforcing key concepts and aiding in their understanding
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and the delivery of engaging lessons across various subjects
  • Support students with behavioural management and ensure a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Offer support with student welfare, promoting self-confidence, and encouraging personal development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and provide additional support as necessary
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, marking work, and general classroom management

Graduate Teaching Assistant Role Details:

  • Full-time, term-time only (Monday to Friday)
  • Competitive weekly salary of £475-£500
  • Start date: January 2025, with the potential for an ongoing position
