What You Will Do:

  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough social work assessments to determine the needs of children and families.

  • Child in Need Plans: Develop, manage, and review child in need plans, ensuring effective and responsive interventions.

  • ICPC Progression: Progress cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) when appropriate, ensuring timely interventions.

  • Joint Investigations: Collaborate with other professionals on joint investigations to safeguard vulnerable children and families.

  • Signs of Safety Model: Implement the Signs of Safety model in practice to ensure a child-centred, strengths-based approach.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in assessment-based social work, particularly in child protection and child in need plans.

  • Familiarity with joint investigations and Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) training is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Signs of Safety model implementation.

  • Driving licence and access to transport are necessary (Cornwall Council pool cars are available).

  • The role is initially for three months, with the possibility of extension.
