Role Overview

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Social Care Team Manager to join the Children’s Safeguarding Team in Rochdale. You will play a key role across the continuum of need—from Child in Need and Child Protection to PLO and Court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and oversight to a high-performing Children’s Safeguarding Team.

• Champion the implementation of the Family Safeguarding Model, using a trauma-informed and motivational interviewing approach.

• Work directly with families, focusing on building strengths and achieving long-term positive outcomes.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including domestic abuse practitioners, and drug and alcohol workers, to deliver holistic, joined-up support.

• Manage safeguarding risks and promote the goal of keeping children safely with their families wherever possible.

Person Specification

• Proven experience in managing or leading within a children’s safeguarding setting.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and the Family Safeguarding Model.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• A forward-thinking, solution-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
