Senior Management Accountant

About the Role:
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will join a dynamic finance team in a fast-paced and evolving business. This role provides excellent exposure across the entire company and offers opportunities to take on new challenges as the business grows. You will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the company while helping to streamline processes and support business-wide projects.
Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices and monitor the shared invoice inbox.
- Resolve invoice queries and perform supplier reconciliations.
- Review aged creditors and investigate old invoices.
- Assist with weekly payment runs and reconcile bank accounts.
- Lead in preparing monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Director.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including posting prepayments and accruals.
- Assist with VAT return submissions and monthly payroll.
- Improve internal financial controls as the company grows.
- Support ad hoc finance tasks and cross-departmental projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant in the hospitality or retail sector.
- Experience in preparing management accounts, month-end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of numeracy and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to spot and capitalize on financial opportunities.
- A team player with a flexible attitude and a proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Xero is an advantage.
