Sen Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary School in Bordesley Green to join their support staff on a long-term basis. Everyone at the school is committed to providing a caring and friendly environment and creating a happy place to learn because happy children make engaged learners.

Our client wants to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a SEN hub which is a separate classroom for a group of children with various SEN. There are 8 children in the hub who have autism, some are nonverbal. There is also a team of staff in the hub who you would work closely with consisting of a teacher and two Teaching Assistants, the SENDCo is also very involved and supportive. The school are looking for someone who is really passionate about making a difference.

This Teaching Assistant role will start immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year. The position is full time.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

• Experience working in schools in the UK
• Minimum Level 3 qualification
• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Effectively manage the behaviour and engagement of the children
• Motivating and encouraging the children
• Supporting with learning and development
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff
• Giving feedback to parents when needed
• Commitment to the role
• Personal care may be required

This Teaching Assistant position is located in Bordesley Green, which is easily commutable from Alum Rock, Stechford, Small Heath, Yardley, Saltley, Nechells, Tyseley and most areas of Birmingham via car, bus and train.
