Flourish Education are seeking a School Business Manager to support a small Primary School in Kings Norton. The school are part of an academy group and work closely with the other Primary Schools within the group.

Our client is looking for an experienced School Business Manager who would be able to manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with the academies business services are adhered to. As this school is part of a larger academy group the ideal candidate would be directly accountable to the Head of Finance and Corporate Reporting, Head of HR and Payroll and Head of Operations.

This would be a full-time, long-term position, starting ASAP and continuing until Easter in the first instance. Although advertised as a full-time position the school would be open to part-time applicants. This is covering an ongoing sickness absence and has potential to continue until the end of the academic year.


As a School Business Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications, and systems to ensure operational excellence across the primary academy.
  • Overseeing HR, Finance, Estates, and Health & Safety operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with partnership service managers, headteachers, and department heads to support the academy effectively.
  • Ensuring the school adheres to all responsibilities associated with academies’ business services.
  • Playing a key role in maintaining a thriving learning environment for pupils and staff in the Primary School.


We are seeking a skilled School Business Manager with:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a Primary School setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HR, Finance, Estates management, and Health & Safety protocols.
  • A proven ability to support headteachers and departments effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references from your previous employer
