Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school in Highgate to join their staff on a long-term basis. The school is a very multi-cultural, vibrant and positive place that provides a safe and welcoming environment.

Our client wants to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant to work with two children with SEN in a Reception class. The children are currently in a seperate classroom with the view of integrating them into main classroom. Responsibilities in this role include supporting the children to meet their individual needs, keeping them engaged and monitoring their progress.

This Teaching Assistant role is to start ASAP and is ongoing on a long term basis. The position is full time. 

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

• Experience working in schools in the UK
• Minimum Level 3 qualification
• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Effectively manage the behaviour and engagement of the children
• Motivating and encouraging the children
• Supporting with learning and development
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff
• Giving feedback to parents
• Commitment to the role
• Being flexible when needed
• Partial personal care may be required at times

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant you will receive:

• £85.02 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £16,578.90 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Teaching Assistant opportunity is located in Highgate which is easily commutable from Balsall Heath, Bordesley Green, Tyseley, Small Heath, Sparkhill, Jewellery Quarter and most areas of Birmingham via car, bus and train.
