• Role: Full-time Graduate Science Academic Mentor primarily tutoring Year 11 students for their Science A-Levels

This Graduate Science Academic Mentor role offers an exceptional opportunity to focus on supporting Year 11 students in their Science A-Level preparation. You will work in a dynamic, high-achieving secondary school in Walsall, committed to academic excellence and fostering social mobility. The school provides a supportive and inspiring environment for both students and staff. As a Graduate Science Academic Mentor, you will primarily tutor Year 11 students in their Science A-Level subjects, working closely with them to enhance their understanding and exam preparation. You will also collaborate with experienced teachers to develop targeted intervention strategies that help students excel in their exams. In addition to your tutoring duties, the school offers enrichment opportunities, such as visits to industry events and universities, and exciting STEM activities like robotics, hydroponics, and forensic science workshops. The school values internal career progression and offers clear pathways for staff to develop their careers and pursue teacher training opportunities through its established programs.

What we’re looking for in our Graduate Science Academic Mentor:

• A 1st or 2:1 degree in Science or a related field
• Strong A-Levels (preferably in Science or related subjects)
• A genuine passion for tutoring and helping students succeed in their A-Levels
• Ambition to train as a teacher (starting September 2025 – teacher training encouraged, but not guaranteed)
