Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Birmingham – January 2025 Start

A well-regarded secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a motivated Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2025. This full-time Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to assist in delivering engaging lessons and provide tailored support to students across key stages.

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Role:

-          A recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in a STEM-related degree (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science)

-          Previous experience working with young people, either in tutoring or extracurricular activities, is desirable

-          A passion for STEM education and a desire to make learning accessible and exciting for all students

-          Ability to support students in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis, adapting resources and strategies to meet their individual needs

-          Willingness to collaborate with teachers to assist with lesson planning, classroom management, and the delivery of interactive lessons

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide academic support to students in STEM subjects, focusing on helping them understand challenging concepts

-          Offer small group interventions and 1:1 support to students who may need extra assistance

-          Assist with practical experiments, projects, and demonstrations in STEM lessons

-          Work alongside teachers to track student progress and identify areas for improvement

-          Encourage student engagement in STEM subjects, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

-          Support students with organisational skills and study techniques to help them reach their potential

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Role Details:

-          Full-time, term-time only (Monday to Friday)

-          Competitive weekly salary of £475-£500

-          Start date: January 2025
