Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Outstanding School in Birmingham – January 2025 Start

An Outstanding school in Birmingham is looking for a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to start in January 2025. This full-time Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with students who have a range of educational needs, supporting their growth and success.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is desirable
  • A passion for working with students who have a variety of learning needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and emotional/behavioural challenges
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual students' needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum
  • Support students with social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and self-regulation skills
  • Help implement interventions and support strategies for students with SEN
  • Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to monitor student progress and identify areas for additional support
  • Encourage an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role Details:

  • Full-time, term-time only (Monday to Friday)
  • Competitive weekly salary of £480-£500
  • Start date: January 2025, with the potential for an extended role
  • Based in an Outstanding school in Birmingham, with a focus on inclusion, well-being, and academic success for all students
