Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school in Stechford to join their staff on a long-term basis. The school believe that children are better prepared for the future if they are equipped with the tools needed to enable them to become confident, independent, caring and emotionally intelligent individuals.

Our client wants to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant to work with with two children with complex needs. One child has autism and the other has autism and ADHD. One child has an EHCP and the other is awaiting an EHCP. They are in Year 2 and are out of class in the school's nurture room.

Responsibilities in this role include supporting the children to meet their individual needs, keeping the children engaged and monitoring their progress. You will also be working closely with other Teaching Assistants. Personal care is required.

This Teaching Assistant role is to start after February Half Term and will continue on an ongoing basis. This position is full time. Both children are on slightly reduced hours so the working hours for this role are 8:45am - 3pm.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

• Experience working in schools in the UK
• Minimum Level 3 qualification
• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Effectively manage the behaviour and engagement of the children
• Motivating and encouraging the children
• Supporting with learning and development
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff
• Commitment to the role
• Being flexible when needed
• Personal care may be required at times

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant you will receive:

• £85.02 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £16,578.90 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Teaching Assistant opportunity is located in Stechford which is easily commutable from Castle Bromwich, Washwood Heath, Marston Green, Tyseley, Small Heath, Shard End and most areas of Birmingham via car, bus and train.
