Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a 2-form entry, 'Good' rated Primary school in Gloucester. This role would be supporting 2 children in Early Years (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1). The ideal candidate would support 2 children who are currently awaiting an EHCP. The first child is in Reception who is currently working 2 hours a day, on a reduced timetable, attending on Wednesday afternoons and mornings the remainder of the week. The second child is in attending in the afternoons for 1 hour a day, the child is non-verbal and is working below EYFS level. The ideal candidate would need to be flexible as the school would require them to work elsewhere when not supporting the children.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting two children on reduced timetables: one in Reception and one in Year 1.
- Delivering tailored support to pupils with SEND, including learning delay and non-verbal needs.
- Collaborating with the Class Teacher and SENCO to create effective learning plans.
- Assisting in other areas of the school when the children are not in attendance.
- Following the National Curriculum, EYFS, and Key Stage 1 standards.
- Maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
- Previous experience working in UK schools, preferably within Early Years or Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum, Early Years (EYFS), and Key Stage 1 frameworks
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and families.
