Main Duties: Implement the neurobehavioural approach to brain injury, incorporating current research findings and best practices in the field.Manage and prioritise a caseload of individuals with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviours.Utilise evidence-based practices and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.Conduct thorough assessments considering the environment, context, and future plans to develop suitable rehabilitation goals, care plans, communication, and dysphagia therapy programmes, and referrals.Address communication barriers to actively involve individuals in assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning, ensuring informed consent is obtained. Work within legal frameworks for those lacking capacity to consent to treatment.Obtain consent from individuals or advocates to share information with family, carers, and other stakeholders, while maintaining confidentiality.Provide detailed information about individuals’ communication abilities and support needs.Conduct swallowing assessments, providing recommendations, care plans, referrals, and training for all staff in the safe management and rehabilitation of dysphagia.Understand and comply with responsibilities related to risk management and safeguarding, taking proactive steps to improve safety and supporting others in doing the same.Perform risk assessments and seek ways to enhance health and safety within the work area.
